The Heavenly Side of Hell Movie Review

You know what..First let me thank my avid readers who know that I keep it real at all times…I even surprisingly was  approached by some  the same night saying “we are looking forward to your review” Well here it is.

The Haitian Movie industry definitely is taking a step up, but I rather say they are almost there:

Alright let’s get the little mishaps out of the way, I thought in terms of technicality certain things lacked detail orientation:

1- No policemen had the right to enter a house without announcing themselves or at least intimidating the subject into assuming the non-threatening position. Moreover, no police enters a room and blatantly shoots to kill, that’s impossible, that’s not following protocol and I’m pretty sure not even the movie festival would accept something like that. That scene could have been better written.

2- when Tony was shooting from inside the house, though it was special effect, what separated him and the target never moved, no shattering window or leaves flying, no nothing (but I know budget wise that might have been purposely avoided so no fault on that)

3- Certain parts of the movie bothered the eye with too many close ups, for example the close-up on the rice and beans the character Alex played by Tony was eating at the restaurant, that close-up was unnecessary.

Alright now that the critics are out of the way let’s get on with the kudos: I have realized that the upcoming producers are definitely paying attention to the quality of their work, Tutu Demostene definitely proved to the world that he meant business. The actors, I have absolutely nothing to reproach them, OMG…I felt the emotion, the realness, even after watching Michelle and Tony making love on screen I swear I will never look at them the same way LOL..and Tico goodness, In real life she doesn’t cuss that much, I’m not sure where that side of her was hiding but wow..just wow!! The foreign actors did a marvelous job as well, I love the diversity of the movie, the Character Bob played by Kevin Doyle certainly became one of those characters you love to hate at the end of a movie..LOL

Nonetheless, I give this movie an overall B+ ,  I definitely enjoyed every bit of it and by the response of the crowd I can feel a national tour coming along.

Congratulations again to the crew of The Heavenly Side of Hell and great luck in your endeavors
