If you’ve taken the time to know who I am and what I’ve done you’ve realized that I’m not the one to toot my own horn. I like to remain humble at all times. But this particular moment has made my day, for the first time in my life I have accomplished something I can be proud of, it has nothing to do with the 4.0 GPA that I had in college, or the corporate positions that I have held in the past, these achievements were expected of me. Growing up that’s all I knew excellence but how can you be proud of something you are used to.

The Chellea Magazine release party put me out of my comfort zone, I had put in work, sleepless nights and even coping with emotional turmoil. I don’t think I’ve ever cried like this for work, I was so stressed that  if you have told me to go see a psychiatrist I would have believed you, however the end result speaks for itself,  as the day approached the Lord has surely been good to me he’s sent me Rita to be by my side every second of the way, I literally spoke to her 4 to 5 times a day. Then he sent Gigi, kind hearted, hard working mom of a beautiful little star who had no shame in her game, a task needed to be done and all she was looking for was results, He also sent me my CCWC girls Mouseline, Sylvie and Melody who even brought back up with them, they held the front door on lock I didn’t even have to say a word. My Make up Artist Tervy and Hair Stylist Pauline they worked their butt off that night.

The back of the house became like a movie …If people don’t understand what went into this show we are talking about a full 30+ people production which most of the work had to be done in less than 24 hours. Needless to say I had my work cut out for me.

The Chellea team also did their part, there certainly were no “i” in team there. Everything came together like clock work and we couldn’t be ever so proud.

Soooo…I’d like to thank Chellea Magazine for giving me such a challenging role, it was CCWC’s official first coordinated event. I didn’t know how strong I was until today, I rediscovered who I am and it was indeed a proud moment. I also want to thank all the designers, models, hairstylists, make up artists and volunteers that made this event a success.

I hope that all women can experience a moment like this. Here is to your empowerment  ladies.

What’s your proud moment story?
